How Scoffy works

Whether you're ordering a birthday cake or you're a small or home baker selling your bakes, here's exactly what happens at every step.

For customers

Search by bake, postcode & date

Use the search bar to tell us what you're after, roughly where, and when you need it by. We'll show verified bakers who can help.

Compare bakers near you

Browse profiles — photos, products with full ingredients lists, pricing guides, hygiene ratings, insurance status and real reviews.

Send your order request

Pick your product, quantity, the date you need it, and whether you'll collect, want delivery, or want to meet at an agreed spot.

Baker accepts your request

Your baker reviews the request and confirms they can make it — they may message you with questions first.

Pay a small deposit

Once accepted, you pay a deposit online to lock in your order and date. This is held securely until your order is fulfilled.

Collect, delivery, or meet up

Pick up from your baker's home, have it delivered, or meet at an agreed spot — then pay the remaining balance directly to your baker.

Leave a review

Let other customers know how it went, and help brilliant home bakers grow their business.

FAQs

Common questions

Is my deposit refundable?

Deposits are held to secure your order and date. If a baker has to cancel, you'll receive a full refund. Cancellation by customers is subject to each baker's individual policy, shown on their profile.

How are bakers verified?

Every baker shares proof of food hygiene rating, food business registration and public liability insurance, plus photo ID, before they can list products on Scoffy.

What if I have a food allergy?

Every product lists its ingredients. Always message your baker directly about allergies before ordering — most home kitchens handle multiple allergens.

How much does it cost to sell on Scoffy?

There's no monthly fee — Scoffy takes a small commission per order, only when you get paid.

What areas does Scoffy cover?

Scoffy bakers are listed across the UK. Use the postcode search to see who's near you or willing to deliver to your area.
